We just had pitch day, and I think that it went pretty well. They loved my idea! It went really well! The only some-what negative comments that they made / suggested were that they wanted me to put a headband on my logo, and to get some funding so I can get the fabric, without using my own money. Otherwise they all loved my idea they all thought that I had a clear goal. I just need to find a way to get some money to buy the fabric. I'll keep you updated.
Change of plans!! Instead of making bows and headbands, I am just doing headbands and donating them to Children's Hospital for girls with cancer. I have been trying to figure out a place to donate my bows and headbands and then I just thought of Childrens Hospital. Most people with cancer have to get their head shaved caused by a certain medication, and lots of girls like to accessorize so why not combine the two and make headbands for girls with cancer. I am going to ditch the bows because headbands are going to be better with girls with cancer. I am going to rename my 20% time name Headbands for Hearts. Also, pitch day is coming up in about two weeks!! That means that I have to come up with a video and finalize my idea. My idea is pretty solid, I am just going to have to tweak a few things. There are lots of things going on in the next two weeks. I'll keep you guys posted.
Hey guys! I am a 7th grader at Hixson Middle School. And we are doing a year-long project called 20% Time. We get to choose a topic that we would want to do all year round. It could be a research project or we could even make something. My original idea was to make bows for dogs but then I realized that I will have a bigger audience if I do it for little girls. I might also make some headbands out of old t-shirts and braid them. I have started a few to mess around and some of them have turned out to be pretty good. I am hoping to sell these for a few dollars. I haven't started to make the headbands yet but I am excited to make them. I hope that my idea will work and become a success! This is my first blog and there will be many more to come.
